Max has been my darling boy ... when I got him, I was working as a dog trainer at PetsMart and he went to work with me every day. Even as an adult male he was great in the training ring with other dogs ... he is the "trusted one".
His first time in the show ring was MY first time in the show ring ... at seven months, on our first day ever in the ring, we took Winners Dog and Best of Breed Puppy at the Houston Kennel Club Show ... and in the Best of Breed Puppy ring we were filmed by Animal Planet. He spun me around like a top in front of the judges and the camera ... and the more people laughed and clapped, the more animated he became! Even with those crazy antics, he placed second in Puppy Group ... we were both hooked! He has been a joy to show; even as a Special, we have done our fair share of winning.
Structurally, he is one of the most sound Mastiffs you will ever see... his movement and top-line are exquisite. He has passed ALL of his health testing - click on the CHIC icon above to go to his OFA records page!
Temperamentally, I couldn't have asked for a better dog, he is a joy around people and dogs of all ages. He finished his Novice Rally Obedience title in 3 out of 3 tries - easy for him! He is a CGC and TDI dog and he loves the therapy visits more than I do! We are only one leg away from his CD title in obedience. His wonderful temperament, behavior and looks won him a spot in a Hasbro commercial (click the link to the right to see his commercial, then choose the "Smoochie Pup" commercial from the "Select Video" drop down box), an SPCA commercial and a Century Bank commercial ... as well as a spot in the hearts of almost all who meet him.
And, as of this year, Max is a DADDY! We have pups available that he sired on the "Our Litters" page. Also, be looking for his pups in the show ring in 2006 and beyond!
